Making a black & red special occasion dress. (Perfect for Valentine’s Day next week!)
Hello! I hope you’re all keeping warm! If you’d like to see the process of how I made the black and red dress mentioned in my last post, then please take a look at this sewing video. Flapper inspired wedding dress
It was actually a New Year’s goal last year to work on my photography for Oshun; which I managed to do a bit, but not nearly as much as I wanted to. So I’m continuing this year and have spent today re-editing some photos I took of the 1920’s flapper vintage style wedding dress (which is actually a skirt and top outfit) I have for sale.

Do you remember me telling you about my plans for the vintage and antique Christening gowns? Well there aren’t many left in OshunKids now, so I could get started soon! Here’s a vintage baby suit I sent off yesterday.
Gorgeous pink & black fabric.
One of my first sewing projects for 2017 is going to be a custom made to order dress in black and pink. This gorgeous silk chiffon fabric is embellished with black embroidery and tiny black sequins. Stunning! Check it out on my Instagram!
Happy New Year! Oshun plans for 2007 & clothing discount news
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all have an amazing 2017! I’ve got loads of plans as usual, but will probably only have time for half of them! If you’d like to know what items I’m planning on making this year, I’m going to start with a couple of velvet cloaks as I’ve had a few requests for these for weddings. Then I’m going to focus on a Pastel Goth collection which I’m aiming to have completed by late spring. For summer, I’ll be adding to the silk chiffon goddess dresses as the lovely ladies I met at the New Forest Fairy Festival have asked for some. More velvet cloaks and capes in autumn and then I’ll be starting a Steampunk Collection in winter. All the while I’ll be developing my made-to-order wedding and special occasion dress samples and working on those orders as they come in. It’s good to have goals isn’t it?!
On the admin side of things I’m going to finally set up a newsletter. Watch out for that because I’ll be giving you exclusive discount codes. Speaking of which, keep an eye on the Oshun Costumes shop and the Oshun Kids shop as I”m going to be heavily discounting old stock to make some space in my house! And please follow me on Instagram as I’ve been working on post-processing some Oshun photography and posting the photos there if you’d like to see them.

I’ve decided to close the OshunKids shop on Etsy. From now on I won’t be renewing the items as they expire, but instead, I will start an album on Oshun’s facebook page so you can see all the handmade clothes, and purchase them if you wish through private messages. The vintage clothes will continue to be available on www.JustABitDifferent.co.uk and I have an exciting project in mind for all the unsold Christening gowns!
